Roger Steven Greene, 53, of Duluth died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at his home following a courageous battle with leukemia.

 

He was born March 13, 1952 in Duluth to Eddie and Millie Greene.

 

Roger graduated from East High School, attended UMD and graduated from Brown Institute in Minneapolis. He owned and worked in the electronics industry his whole life. Roger owned two businesses in Duluth, The Sound of Music and Twin Ports Video Center. He then worked for Best Buy in Duluth and Minneapolis, Salon One Audio in Wisconsin Rapids, Audio Perfection and the Needle Doctor in Minneapolis and Acoustic Sounds of Salina, Kansas. Roger was known world-wide for his knowledge and love of music. He enjoyed his ''Harley'', golf, traveling, especially to Maui and special times with family and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

 

Roger is survived by his wife of 21 years, Judy; first wife, Carol. He will be sadly missed by his children, Andrew and Jodi; stepchildren, Michelle (Mark) and Brenda. Roger was very special to his grandchildren, Larry, Taylor, Mallory and Leah; and great-granddaughter, Chloe. He is also survived by his sister, Mavis (Bill) Tobin of CT; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in NY, CT, NJ and GA; as well as his godson, Marc Davis.

 

Thanks to his special friends, Steve, Terri, Ron, Jack, Scott, Forrest, Bruce and many more. Thanks also to all who comforted Roger during this illness especially Dr. Kirschling, St. Luke's 2 West staff and hospice.

 

MEMORIAL SERVICE:1 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006 in Temple Israel, 1602 E. 2nd St., Duluth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the ''Roger Greene Memorial Fund'', Northern Communities Credit Union, 3311 W. Arrowhead Rd., Duluth, MN 55811. Private family interment. Service entrusted to the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 624-5200.
